Who would have Thought the little Girl kissing her newborn brother in this pic would grow up to possibly become New York’s Next Senator?
According to ABCNews, that’s the word on the street: (via Americablog)
Another Senator Kennedy? The crazy belief about Hillary Clinton’s Senate bench may not be so crazy afterwards all. A Democrat who would apperceive tells ABC News that New York governor David Paterson has talked to Caroline Kennedy about demography the seat, which was already captivated by her uncle, Robert F. Kennedy. It’s not absolutely abominable that Paterson would ability out to one of the a lot of awful admired accessible abstracts in New York, but this is: Sources say Kennedy is because it, and has not disqualified out advancing to Washington to alter Hillary Clinton in the Senate.
And, peep what her cousin, Robert Kennedy, Jr., had to say about this:
When Robert Kennedy, Jr. took himself out of the running for the seat earlier this week, he told Jonathan Hicks of the New York Times, “Caroline Kennedy would be the perfect choice if she would agree to it.”
But the clincher on this possible development:
We hear that President-elect Obama has made it clear that he thinks Caroline Kennedy would be a great choice.
If true, this would mean that Jack Kennedy’s daughter will be one Senator with direct access to President Obama on all things important to US, the American People.
We were speculating how President-Elect Obama would reward Caroline for her participation in the vetting process of his VP running mate and other things. No one denies Caroline had a large role in getting Mr. Obama elected.
His endorsement may very well be the reward she gets, cause it appears that New York’s Governor, David Patterson, is on board with the idea as well. Joe Sudbay had this to add:
It could be a good political move for Governor Paterson. Rep. Nita Lowey would have been an obvious choice to replace Senator Clinton, but she took her name out of contention. Picking any other N.Y. House member would just get all the other members of the delegation irritated at Governor Paterson. I keep hearing Andrew Cuomo eventually wants to be Governor so the Senate would be a detour (and I doubt he’ll challenge Paterson in a primary. That last gubernatorial primary didn’t go so well for him.)
What do you think, JJP readers? Open for discussion and all that…
