For the additional time in the few abbreviate years I accept lived in my East Dallas neighborhood, I saw a actual apprehensive car active boring down my street. The disciplinarian was slowing down, searching at houses and drive ways, and again inching along. When I pulled out of my driveway, and he noticed he had a car abaft him, he angry assimilate a bigger street, but still seemed to be artful his next move.
So, as I had done a few years back, I took a picture with my handy phone. A few years ago, I pulled alongside the truck and asked the guy what he was doing. Oh, just meeting a friend at his new house, he told me. Funny, I said, no houses have been sold on this street. I informed him we had a very active Crime Watch and that, no offense, I was going to snap his picture. He didn't smile. Odd.
This time around, I didn't have the opportunity to ask the driver if he was lost, but when I passed him, I saw that he was wearing a mask. A mask!? So I took his picture. He flipped me off and turned north onto a busy road out of the neighborhood.
Heeding the advice of our Crime Watch captain, I called 911 this time, worried they might think I was over-reacting. Not at all, the operator told me. Thanks for calling it in and being able to describe the driver and the truck. We'll send a car to patrol the area, she said.
I feel safer. And I am sure that the "sweat the small stuff" approach of 911 operators has a little somethign to do with our improving crime stats.
