The accepted arrangement of the avant-garde admiral presents a problem: Can one being represent the assessment of an absolute country? The acknowledgment is, the admiral cannot.

As the president becomes the embodied opinion of America, our political values become skewed. The office of the executive was never designed by the founders to garner public opinion, but has done so since the days of the Roosevelt administration.

Year after year, Congress continues to fail America and the institution of democracy by slowly (and willingly) giving away its most prized possession to the president: the ability to represent the people's opinion on issues affecting everyday America.

It was the opinion of the founders that, "A president appealing to popular support and temporary passions of the people, creates factions and provides no basis for rational arguments." This is a particular problem today as the presidency becomes rhetorical and increasingly influential on decisions made by Congress.

With these factors in mind, can Barack Obama restore Congress as the representative of the people? Because President-elect Obama is so new on the political scene he hasn't been wrapped up in the "Good Ol' Boy" network and should challenge the modern presidency by being what the founders intended, an independent executive.

Modern politics

The modern American presidency is very different from the way our Founding Fathers intended.

The founders did not want the president of the country to just pander for the popular support of the citizens. They feared this would harm the country because the president would constantly be seeking support from different groups of people, which could cause divisions within the country.

The 2008 presidential race was one of the most heated in recent history. I think that because of the nature of the presidency today, both parties chose candidates they thought would look good on television.

Our country will most likely suffer because of these modern politics. There maybe some great leader out there that will never get elected just because he is not the best looking or most well-spoken guy on the block.
